Overview

AccessMap is an accessibility-first navigation concept that helps users choose step-free routes with confidence—not just the fastest path. I designed the end-to-end experience (IA → filters → guidance), built a state-ready UI system, and validated key decisions through rapid usability checks—delivering a hi-fi prototype with documented edge cases and tradeoffs.

Problem

Navigation apps optimize for speed—not accessibility—creating dead ends and stress for users when routes include slopes, broken sidewalks, unsafe crossings, or inaccessible entrances.
